这一句 of whichthey were created, 这里为何用介词of 呢？应该是createsth by/out of/from sth...
另外They wereof the earth 这里的were of是“具备”earth属性的意思吗？

第一个 of 表示 “来源” 关系。跟 be born of 中的 of 是同一种使用方法。
第二个 of 表示 “材料” 关系。of 后面的词汇，说明“用来制造的材料”，跟 be made of 是同一个使用方法，当然，用 from 也可以。
两句都用 of 而不需要 from，含义不那样直白，比 from 具备更多的想象。
